Verified Champions - A GOLD Anthem Award WINNER!

Verified Champions is a digital campaign focused on transforming climate narratives and improving the information ecosystem around climate online.

It is part of the Verified for Climate initiative, a joint program of the United Nations and Purpose, supported by TikTok, Rockefeller Foundation, and Fortescue.

My Role? I lead day-to-day management of the Verified Champions program, overseeing a diverse team spread across the UK, Brazil, Indonesia, Spain, and the UAE. My responsibilities include providing strategic guidance on the program, trusted messenger engagement, advising on online community management, and actively contributing to the development of the campaign.

In 2024, Verified Champions produced content that reached over 116 million people, and led to 23% more people selecting the right action to respond to climate misinformation.

Highlight(s): In November 2024, Verified Champions received a Gold Anthem Award in the Sustainability, Environment, & Climate category. This recognition celebrates our efforts in building a worldwide network of climate messengers who share accurate climate information online.

The future thanks you

The Future Thanks You is a global campaign promoting the transition to renewable energy, encouraging audiences to take the necessary actions today that will ensure a healthy future. It is also part of the Verified for Climate initiative.

My Role? I manage cross-collaboration between the Verified Champions campaign and the Future Thanks You (TFTY) initiative. This includes distributing content briefs to trusted messengers and leveraging global climate moments to support the broader goals of the Verified for Climate program. In 2024, I collaborated with the creative team and the Museum of the UN to oversee the production of a video series featuring stakeholder interviews from Iraq, South Africa, California, Mexico, and India (view all videos here). I also managed translations for all videos and led Arabic-to-English translation for creative assets related to the campaign. Additionally, I advised on and facilitated two high-level events during NY Climate Week 2024.

Highlight(s): On Earth Day 2023, we launched a TikTok filter showcasing various types of renewable energy. This joint effort marked the launch of TFTY campaign, with Verified Champions introducing the filter to their audiences. You can try the filter out here!

In April 2025, The Future Thanks You received a Silver Indigo Design Award in Digital Design for Social Change, and in Integrated Graphic Design for Social Change.

Sustain

Let’s be real – there’s a gap in environmental communications, and we, as active social media users, can help fill it. This campaign aims to establish two distinct, independently-led networks: Sustain – a broad network that engages general audiences; and It’s Getting Hot Y’all (IGHY) – a BIPOC-focused network with messaging tailored to BIPOC communities online. Both networks bring together influential voices capable of inspiring their audiences toward meaningful environmental action, from individual behavior changes to collective advocacy. This program was developed in partnership with the Mariposa Foundation.

My Role? I led day-to-day program management, developed and managed the trusted messenger network plan, crafted copy, managed social media strategy + content, and partner outreach.

Network for Refugee Voices

Network for Refugee Voices (NRV) is a group of refugee and refugee-led organizations working to contribute to processes and commitments aimed at reforming the international refugee protection regime, including the UN Global Compact on Refugees and Compact for Migration.  The NRV recognizes that urgent action is needed at the international, national, and local levels to develop innovative and effective refugee policy to ensure a sustainable global response to the refugee crisis.

My Role? I was the main point of contact for all refugee and refugee-led organizations involved in the initiative. I led all communications—internal and external—including briefings, press releases, content creation, social media management, and copywriting. Additionally, I organized events and delegation visits.

Highlight: In June 2018, we hosted the first-ever Global Summit of Refugees in Geneva, bringing together 70+ refugee leaders from 29+ countries. This landmark event marked a pivotal shift in how the international community, including the UNHCR, designs and implements policies affecting refugee livelihoods and well-being.

SAVE OUR SYRIA

Save Our Syria (SOS) is an online platform that empowers Syrian civil society and humanitarian groups to pursue Syrian-led solutions to the Syrian crisis.

My Role? I managed the campaign’s X account, monitoring daily content related to the ongoing war in Syria, and developed a content plan to spotlight attacks on civilians by the Assad regime. I also supported the project team with external communications and day-to-day project management.

Key Moment(s): In January 2018, we launched a daily thread documenting attacks across Syria and calling on the international community to hold both the Russian and Syrian regimes accountable for their war crimes. Our efforts garnered attention from civil society actors, including the Syria Campaign and The White Helmets, as well as from the United Nations and various government officials.
